NBC Nightly News going after staged "back and forth" with troops

Someone has given NBC Nightly News the green light to go after the White House. They went after everything about that "back and forth" (quote from Scotty) with the troops and W. They talked about how it the "back and forth" was to be off the cuff, yet showed all the pre-pratice session with some Pentagon lady and the troops. They also compared it to the propagandist "Mission Accomplished" carrier visit.

One of the other powers-that-be are now encouraging the press to go after the White House. This is probably some butt-covering and someone looking for something to gain over this.

Is GE looking out for their long-term intrests here and using W as the fall guy?
