The administration went from: "We don't know how Miers feels about ....
Roe-vs-Wade...."We have no litmus test"
to:
"We know she belongs to an Evangelical church that almost is universally devoted to a "pro life agenda".....

to:
"nobody ever asked her how she feels about abortion".
....We never thought to ask her.

One thing they DO admit, she's very loyal to GWB.

We always hear that a person was nominated because of his/her "loyalty to Buxh"....

Why does no one consider their loyalty to America?
Their loyalty to the constitution?
Their loyalty to the citizens?

Harriet Miers could give a hamsters ass about abortion.....She's there to continue the reign of "the most brilliant man she ever met" and to serve the people who made him such.

if a repulican says it, it's a lie. Works nearly every time.

4. I read an article today that made sense to me......
......it said that what the right needs now is activist judges who will work to accomplish their goals. And it also said that Roberts and Miers probably would not do that.......try to change law to fit their agenda.

Roberts has already said he would not try to change 'settled law' and it also said that Roe v Wade is settled law.

Then it said that Miers has a habit of adapting to whatever surrounding she is in.......the article called her a chamleon. It said that if she did become a Justice, she would probably vote along with the majority.

7. Miers and my crazy uncle
My crazy uncle, the truck-driving, beer-swilling, bible-thumping is also a born again Christian.

Why can't he be the nominee since that is the only requirement Bush requires.

He is also very much against abortion.

So he should be a shoe-in.

"the second most qualified person for the Supreme Court" in the country.

DAMN!....So close.
Such seems to be the logic with this twisted admin.

9. You know, I don't think this PR blitz is working for him either.
Did you hear Scottie's press conference yesterday? Did you see * blinking rapidly when he was responding to Lauers' questions? Have you heard the talking heads shredding both? Have you listened to the C-SPAN callers ripping * from both sides of the chasm?

It's not working. People aren't buying the spin any longer.

14. Check this description of his body language from the Post.
This nitwit is not up to this kind of close inspection.

>snip
But this much could be seen watching the tape of NBC's broadcast during Bush's 14-minute pre-sunrise interview, in which he stood unprotected by the usual lectern. The president was a blur of blinks, taps, jiggles, pivots and shifts. Bush has always been an active man, but standing with Lauer and the serene, steady first lady, he had the body language of a man wishing urgently to be elsewhere.

The fidgeting clearly corresponded to the questioning. When Lauer asked if Bush, after a slow response to Katrina, was "trying to get a second chance to make a good first impression," Bush blinked 24 times in his answer. When asked why Gulf Coast residents would have to pay back funds but Iraqis would not, Bush blinked 23 times and hitched his trousers up by the belt.

When the questioning turned to Miers, Bush blinked 37 times in a single answer -- along with a lick of the lips, three weight shifts and some serious foot jiggling. Laura Bush, by contrast, delivered only three blinks and stood still through her entire answer about encouraging volunteerism.>more

13. They used to say Bush never stayed at anything long. and so
maybe he is bored being President. It is not fun any more and FEMA's uniform is not as nice as his military ones. Time to send this guy home.
