Democratic Revolution 2006!
We can pull this off, the Republicans did it. In 1992 the GOP looked doomed, but came back to win the 1994 election by a comfortable margin. The tide is the same as it was then, only it's in our favor. The revolution is coming and we've got to help it along!

1. I haven't heard any polls lately....
I am confident that, in the senate, we can take out DeWine and Santorum.
that makes 53-47, I believe... We need 4 more.

2. The trick is to have a national message that all candidates can run on.
The problem we have had for some time is that in every state we run a different campaign and the Republicans decimate us that way. When we can make every race part of a national referendum on the Republican party, we will win BIG.

3. I heard this morning that in 1992 there were 190 seats in con-
tention. In 2006 there are only a few dozen.

I'm sure at least part of the reason for that is redistricting.

If there are only a few dozen seats that are in contention, it's going to be extremely difficult to retake the House!

4. A million and half hurricane victims have moved to new districts...
and usually 10-20,000 votes could make a difference in any of those districts..

8. But am I wrong to assume most of those victims are in
distrricts that are already Dem?

I can't imagine many of them being residents of the wealthy areas that are strongly Pub! Plus, won't the Dems lose large Dem sections of La.?

I hope EVERY DAY that we can take back the Hosue & Senate, but I have to look at reality.

6. It is time to reclaim our country from the republican Party of Corruption.
We all need to work hard during the campaigns and make sure the message is clear and not muddled. 'Swift Boat Traitors for Lies' need to be taken out early and not allowed to hammer their message without a fierce rebuttal from the Democrats.

7. Howard Fineman mentioned a democratic "contract with america" type thing
is in the works - he said it this morning on the Chris Mathews show. Said Rohn Emmanual brought it up last sunday with Stephenopolus. We were just discussing it here...
