I read the NYT article "In Raucous House Vote, G.O.P. Oil Refinery Bill Squeaks By" this morning and was surprised (OK, well, maybe not surprised, but disappointed) that I saw no mention of the Democrats chanting "Shame, shame, shame" in the article. It is quite amazing that the NYT chose to completely leave out this very interesting and dramatic part of the story.
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/10/08/politics/08energy.html?th&emc=thI didn't watch much of the corporate media news yesterday. I guess Wolf Blitzer covered it a bit but did anyone else?
I hope the Daily Show has a clip on it on Monday--it would be great material for them. I sure wish Jon Stewart was on TV on Fridays. It really seems like they should be on to cover the outrageous things that always seem to take place at the end of the week (i.e., the "Friday night news dump"). So many outrages, so little time to cover them!
During Katrina, I had high hopes that maybe the media had seen the light and would start reporting a little more truthfully, but other than Keith Olbermann (and occasionally Anderson Cooper and Jack Cafferty), it's back to business as usual.
