How to make a developed country a banana republic -
1) Implement tax policies that accelerate the exit of higher paying jobs (ala outsourcing) during a recession - so that when jobs start being created again (when economy picks up) there is a downward pressure on wages.

2) Use taxpayer money as big pots of cash for cronies to get huge govt contracts with no oversight, and huge tax cuts for wealthy individuals and select big corporations in order to create a permanent political slush fund to make permanent a one-party system that solidifies permanent economic disparities.

3) Implement tax policies that make it harder for moderate and low income folks to own homes, and that strip health insurance away from most americans (this is just in the "pending" stage - but is being pushed to be unrolled by the end of the year); shift income taxes to absorb anent sales taxes increasing the cost of consumption by 30 - 50% - thus taxing moderate and low income folks almost all of their wages (due to spending, by necessity, most earned income) - while sheltering wealthier folk's income from investments, inheritance tax, etc.

4) Pass a bankruptcy bill that encourages predatory lending (no cap on legalized usury) - while makes more draconian the repayment plans - AND that makes no exceptions for health crises (remember - health insurance for many, if their tax plans go through, will be but a faint memory) or natural disasters (for which there will be poorer and poorer response by govt due to #2)

All the while, convince people that this is in their best interest, peppering the rhetoric with religious language - such that some believe that if they don't support those in power that they will go to h$ll.

Bushjr/Rove/Norquist/DeLay - 101.

2. This government is the most wasteful in spending ever!

Our beautiful republic has been taken over by robber barons and there is no hope whatsoever of a popular armed resistance. The average american idiot is armed but all they care about is getting and keeping what is 'mine'.

Their control of the MSM and the voting machines means any hope of peaceful revolution is impossible.

Sure the MSM has been making noise about the current figurehead but that is just to placate the masses. By the next election they will pull the same shit they did last time. Repeating the coproratist's propaganda and soundbites with a repetitive nauseating intensity.

Their only goal now is to stack the court with enough RW's to overturn Posse Comitatus. Once the repukes control the court they will need another national disaster, manufactured if necessary, though neglect if nothing else, to justify dissolving Posse Comitatus.

3. the thing is -that what they are pushing now ...would hit most
Americans hard - from multiple directions - in the pocketbook (if they don't also steal the wallet, first.) - this means that the average american just caring about getting and keeping "what is mine" - will see "what is mine" taken as well. But too late.

By concentrating so much wealth at the top - they are creating an oligarchical type strata that can keep self-funding to perpetuate their wealth - and control of the govt.

Look at what is happening in NO - are the contractors (not local, but bush cronies) hiring locals? No. Even with revoking the prevailing wage laws - the contractors are importing even cheaper labor - this isn't about rebuilding - this is about using a national disaster to further enrich themselves, while further impoverishing more and more american citizens.

4. how to execute a coup in a democracy
Lie in wait and fear of the dotcom revolution, for its marxist
monopolistic opportunities, fear the internet, and seek to make it
plural and irrelevant "internets".

And as the world was on the verge of unparalleled symbiosis
towards an age of great global wealth, these small hearted men
executed a coup, and immediately set about putting all the financial
allocations towards military and war.

Assert the media state as the defacto utopia, and that its not gonna
change or get better, that workers of the world should knuckle down
and accept that things can only get worse as they assert their global
class war against the poor.

With billions of dollars, buy the media channels, broadcast your mind states and drive the population to paranoia with fear for political
gain, and you hold them in your fist, the nation afraid wanting a
powerful dictator to make it all better. Perhaps they should erect
a tomb in the washington mall, so that long after the death, we can
file past the mummified body of bush, until like lenin, he starts to
turn moldy and stink, and they will still file past for a hundred years
until the flesh has fallen off the bones, and only the ekeleton of
the evil man remains for people to scorn.
