A good idea ??????....maybe????
I , like many of you, have been agonizing for some time regarding the election fraud we all saw back in November 04. Thus I would like to present the "People's Reward". Through the likes of MoveOn and Black Box we could raise enough money to create a very attractive bounty to have someone from Triad or Diebold come forward and blow the whistle on these thieves. In reading last week in the Cleveland Plain Dealer about a Bradblogged article and the fearful atmosphere at Diebold currently the timing may be right for this notion. If it all comes down to the CYA theory that can be easily overcome. Along with a significant cash reward they would be given a celebrity or even hero status and remain visible. Visibility is your only real protection after committing to something like that.Feed the greed to garnish the good deed. Any thoughts?

1. Good idea - how do we start it?
Skinner and the Admins would have to endorse it and collect the money if we did here at DU.

3. If I am not mistaken, there was an organization offering an award for this
many months ago - it may have been a coalition of musicians, if memory serves me right. Anyone remember this? I'll try to search the archives for details...

9. Don't know about the musicians one, but...
From Velvet Revolution:
9/15/05

VELVETREVOLUTION LAUNCHES 'GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABILITY REWARD FUND'

$100,000 REWARD FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE ARREST AND CONVICTION OF CORRUPT GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS

VR today launches the 'Government Accountability Reward Fund' to induce whistleblowers to come forward with information about criminal activity by high government officials. Specifically, VR has a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of officials involved in the following three incidents: 1) the illegal outing of CIA Agent Valerie Plame, 2) the illegal payment of bribes to Congressman Dennis Hastert, and 3) the rigging of the 2004 Presidential election in Ohio. In the event more than one person provides information or information about more than one incident, the money will be split between the persons.

<more>

Emphasis mine.

Is that what you were thinking of?

6. Yep -a group called Justice Through Music offered $200K for proof of fraud

Reward for proof of serious voting fraud raised to $200,000
http://www.bluelemur.com/index.php?p=417
A non-profit music advocacy group has raised their reward to anyone with evidence of voting fraud that could change the outcome of the presidential race to $200,000. The group, Justice Through Music http://jtmp.org / , said “at least a $200,000 reward to any person or persons who provide conclusive and verifiable evidence that the results of the 2004 presidential election were not correctly tabulated” if it would affect the electoral outcome.

Rauf stressed that the group is hoping to increase the size of the award, so that if someone loses their job by reporting anything, they would have something to live on for a fair amount of time. “I think if we could get it up to a million, it’s a better incentive.”

He hopes the reward will give life to the movement questioning the security of the nation’s voting systems and the myriad cases of erroneous vote tabulations. Rauf called the reward “a way to get it out there without being involved in the big conspiracy theories.”

4. I posted this in another thread

I think what we need to do is contact Howard Dean and set up a fund to run parallel elections for toss up seats. One step up from exit polls - where we collect a second ballot from folks voting - at this point I think it is the closest we will come to a paper trail - and we would have ammunition to fight if they try to steal.

I don't know if this would work - I don't know how we stop this - but unless we do it all over.

BTW on edit: forgot to mention I like your idea

Let's e-mail the DNC this week and demand some answers. I get an e-mail every ten days from them , yet they have only responded back to one of my many e-mails.
