:wow: Ladies and Gentlemen, bys and girls, you have just seen an entire administartion commit seppuku--or hara-kiri if you will The * gang will have GIs going on 1 year TODs in Iraq, and I have a bad feeling not too many people who have seen the truth over ther will be coming home just yet :(

Military life is hard enough, as families suually have to pack up and move every several years, or in some cases, 16 months or so. NO wimaine your dad/mom/brother/sister/etc being sent to Iraq for a year, to be an oil piepline target in a giant shooting gallery. You just know thoe troops there are devastated, and so are their families and loved ones...

and more leaks from Unca Dick's bloody handiwor, along with *'s diaherra of the mouth isn't helping either

1. Yep, I saw it too.
If assigned to Iraq, expect to be there for a year.
And all enlistments are frozen.
Nobody gets out.
Not good.

10. "And all enlistments are frozen."
Does this mean that a soldier who signed up for a three year stint 35 months ago is S.O.L.?

6. "Do not -- repeat -- do not "bring 'em on" - The American People
"We urge you to ignore the chickenhawk rantings of our unelected and AWOL Chimp-in-Chief*

"He is the spokeschimp for an evil cabal of war profiteers. We do not want any more of our American servicepeople or citizens killed. We want truth, justice, fairness, and The American Way (which has absolutely nothing to do with the BFEE Way)."

So, repeat: "Do not bring 'em on. Leave our soldiers and our citizens alone."

-- The patriotic and discerning majority of American voters who clearly rejected George W. Bush in the 2000 election, and who were appalled when their democracy was overthrown by the so-called supreme court appointment of Bush as pResident.

5. You left out Vet's benefit cuts and reduction in hazard pay.
...and all the other ways Bushco shows its appreciation for those who serve their county in harm's way.

8. i watched a episode of Band of brothers
last night. I am sorry, but in WW2 many men were on the front lines for years in bad conditions and dieing in huge numbers.
I am NOT going to feel sorry for them. WW2 they were drafted and volunteers. all of these guys voluteered. BUT, if the maladministration DOESN'T tell the truth to them, then they have to reap the consequences.
Of course, Bush said mission was accomplished, i guess they should expect to come home.

9. Many differences between WWII and Iraq
In WWII, we really were at risk of losing our freedom to the Axis. In Iraq, that's not the case.

In WWII, the enemy had a first-class army. In Iraq, the enemy barely had an army.

In WWII, the enemy was spread out--all over Europe, down into Africa, across the entire Pacific Ocean. In Iraq, the enemy was contained within one fairly small nation.

In WWII, the enemy had serious amounts of air power. In Iraq, the American antiaircraft gunners' major enemies were boredom and ennui.

In WWII, the enemy had fully-fledged naval forces. Saddam didn't even have merchant marine to speak of.

11. Feel pity for our soldiers
Just because you volunteer does NOT mean you know and approve of what you are getting into. Most volunteers are under 21, not trusted to vote or drink, but trusted enough to be molded into killers. THEY ARE CHILDREN. They've only lived the first 25% of their lives. Of course they can be suckered into the war game.

1 year tour of duties in a guerilla combat scenario, an urban combat scenario, is going to drive every single one of our children INSANE. I don't see how they can even pull these boys and girls out in a year unless recruitment pace picks up... or a draft. Many may be simply moved around different units.

here's a few questions:

1. Where are the soldiers going to go on holiday? Kuwait. Can they afford it?

2. How long will they be cycled out of Iraq before they have to come back. What is the tour turnaround? Will they be there a year, off a month, then back on?

3. How many injuries can be sustained before the tour must be extended?

12. Another question is will they get R&R
Soldiers in Vietnam got a week R&R to help break up their tour and give needed relief in tension. What is happening in Iraq is beyond belief.
