Beck to purported torturer: "I appreciate your service"

After devoting a portion of the October 6 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show to discussing pending legislation that would prohibit "cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment" of detainees held by the U.S. government, Glenn Beck interviewed a caller who claimed to have worked as an "intelligence officer" and to have "extracted intelligence" from U.S.-held prisoners by torturing them. The caller said his preferred methods of torture included burning the retinas of prisoners' eyes with high-powered halogen lamps and blowing out prisoners' eardrums with high-pressure water and air. He also claimed to have known "a contractor that did drilling on live teeth." After hearing the caller describe these torture techniques, Beck responded, "I've got to tell you, I appreciate your service." <snip>

1. What fake macho crap.

(on the part of Beck, I mean.) I believe the torturer. Toadying up to a torture inflictor is pitiful.

2. Good grief! If the Iraqis did this to our soldiers, would he feel

the same? What is wrong with some people in our country? Torture is WRONG. There is simply no way to justify treating other humans in this way. How can he look at himself in a mirror?

Men with no sense of power in their own lives. Women who don't even know they can have power in their own lives.

If there is a vacuum, something will fill it. Beck's show is filling a lot of empty minds.

4. Me thinks it''s fabricated.

There are too many scientific inconsistencies. He uses units of measure that are way off the mark and not consistent with what he would have had available.

Maybe another engineer can read the link and confirm? Sounds like a fabrication to me, doesn't smell right.

I was commenting to someone just the other day about the new level of visiousness US propaganda is taking, and not just here.

The international press is swarming with it, and the style is remarkably similar, Almost as if it was written by a small coordinated group.

It's not even subtle, and you have to ask yourself, "how stupid do they think we are". Perhaps it's best not to answer that one.
