Of those polling in the 5%> range, why do you think they remain in? With so many in the race, are they taking up precious time in the debates, or are their contributions so vital to the dialoge as to justify their consumption of the vital resources of time and money?

Not likely yet, though. I think Kucinich is a long way from dropping out right now. Some of the folks in favor of staying in Iraq should leave. Why lend an air of legitimacy to Bush's War?

I got into this yesterday, not this topic but getting called names and then I got mad, shouted back and got locked. Why are you calling ME names? I didn't try to change your mind I was just stating what I knew because I heard him say it. If you do not wish to hear the real answer from a candidate then perhaps you should not make statements like you made above. I don't want to fight, I just stated what he said. 39. I think I see what the problem is here.

My first post about being in for the long haul (or something like that) has to do with him staying in the election. He wants the US out of Iraq now, the UN in but he does not want to just cut and run and fully expects to be helping fix what we broke. SO it looks like the posts got mixed up but it also looks like your still gonna be pissed at me. Sorry.

I am not sure if other opponents of the war have done this and thus I cant say this postively but not only has Kucinich spoke out on the war's legal wrong he spoke out on the moral wrong too. It's meant to open dialoge on the contributions of candidates in the 5% and under range, candidates who have very little chance of securing the nomination.

I happen to think that Al Sharpton in particular is a crucial voice in the party even though he's going to be the first one to tell you he doesn't expect the nomination.

But there's so many of them. This is why I put the poll up, to find out who people thought would drop and why, and whether they should.

It's interesting. I think it could be a while before anyone else drops out. I mean, Kucinich, Sharpton, and Braun surely realize they don't have any chance in hell of getting the nomination or even the VP spot, but somehow I think that they're all in this for the long haul. Maybe out of spite, maybe they're just that bitter, or maybe they just like the attention.

At this point I don't think that Gephardt or Edwards has much of a chance either, but think that perhaps they refuse to acknowledge this themselves. I mean, I think Gephardt really thinks he has a chance (or at least he did), but c'mon, who's he kidding?

Anyways, while the Kucinich, Braun, and Sharpton should already know they're hopeless cases they'll continue to run anyways just for the spite of it, but I think that Gephardt'll be the next to drop out as soon as he realizes his cause is doomed.

I think Edwards'll hang around in hope of securing the VP nomination (this may be Gephardt's plan too). And yeah, I also think Lieberman still has a shot at the nomination.

When he loses Iowa he'll drop out. Some of them that are polling so low are obviously in it for some other reason than thinking they can win, so there is less reason to drop out.
