I've struggled all day long to view TWO articles, sat through three or four of these "Day Pass" ads and then I don't get to the article.

Salon sucks. I'm now boycotting them. Damn shame too.

It's pure greed. Click on their ads and they get money. The premium services aren't enough money for them so now they want to suck it out through every ploy there is.

I would consider a premium service if it wasn't for those stupid ads.

23. Clear your cache, temporary pages, session cookies.

Sometimes I get stuck in just the loop you're describing, and cleaning out temporary folders usually solves it.

Sometimes nothing works.

A corrupted cookie can cause trouble like this.

Also, have you ever used the "trouble viewing this ad" link? It redirects to a HTML version, which might get you in, if it's Flash click events that are giving your browser heartburn.

I had LOTS of wasted time with the day pass not working correctly, which is why I ponied up for the premium, but even with that, on dial-up, it can be a pain to surf the site.
