I am so sick of this shit
Every goddamn day there's some frigging catastrophic impending doomsday event about to occur. Potential terror attacks, bio-chemical agents left in malls, hurricanes, floods, now bird flu.

Jesus H. Christ...I am sick and tired of the media acting like death sniffers and rolling around in it like dogs in shit. Muthafucker, GIVE IT A REST!!!

MAN, I am PISSED off right now. They can manipulate a fucking vote, but they can't come up with alternative energy sources, they can't feed poor people, they can't rescue people from floods, they can't make sure everyone gets protection from viruses....WTF!

WTF WTF WTF
:wtf:

:nuke:

18. You hit the nail on the head!
While Avian Flu is a concern, its not something to flip out about. While preparations should be made, its not the end of the US and life as we know it at this stage, which is what Bush was making it out to be.

Diversionary tactics are the hallmark of this administration!

4. I'm not sure.
I used to dance with wild abdomen, to use a great John line, at the though of indictments from the Plame/neocon spy scandals. But now the flu! Jeepers. Maybe we just better call off this Constitution business. It's dangerous. And now the flu! I think that General Bush needs to be given full control of the country, using the armed services. And Halliburton needs a blank check. The flu, you know! We can trust these gentlemen. The only option is sure death from the flu.

31. Sadly, yes.
At least, the whole "losing your conscience" part. Now, the becoming wealthy part, that's a bit more difficult these days... Hell, 'tis difficult even to stay in the game, never mind racing ahead.

It's like this has all been one long day, and you just want to nap, but you can't... There's no chance to get a do-over, so you have to get it right the first time... Behind the ball, and you can't take a break...the treadmill's running....

13. A lot of screaming ninnies here too.
A lot of hysterical nincompoops here too.

Remember how they said that martial law would be imposed for the White House peace march?

Remember how they said the military would impose martial law in Louisiana and Mississippi?

They never come back to say they were wrong (that I've seen). They go on to scream about yet more "impending" doomsday scenarios.

They have no substance. They have no real concern and they have no love. There is no need for them except for the need they manufacture.
You are not alone in feeling the way you do. We have spent a lifetime being manipulated.

23. If they put the effort into doing something positive for this country
that they do in fucking everyone over, think of the things that could be accomplished! Health care, decent schools for our children, alternative energy sources, fuel efficient cars...

This is a pipe dream because none of the positive things make them any money or increase their power and hold over the American people.

Good original post, by the way.

25. Thanks for all your supportive little ditties. It really helps...BUT
you don't realize how little bits of negative info just keeps adding layers into your brain and then all of a sudden it takes one "dementor" on tv talking about pandemics and I fucking lose it.

Christ, I remember going through Legionnaire's Disease in the 70's when EVERYbody was gonna D.I.E. and no one knew where it was coming from. How many of these things do we have to go through before people figure it out? We've been waiting for this bird flu since 2002 when they told us to put duct tape and plastic on our windows and doors.

If you die of bird flu, you were probably gonna die anyway. Take a friggin vitamin and shut the fuck up.

27. I saw a show about this exact same thing once
They talked about how reporters have sort of screwed up people's idea of what they need to worry about. If I remember correctly, they had people watch X amount of hours of shows like Primetime, 20/20, etc. and then asked them to rate the threat of various events or problems.

They ranked wearing a seatbelt as less dangerous than leaving a can of paint beside a waterheater even though more people die in a single day from not wearing their seatbelts than would die in something like five years from fires started by leaving paint cans near water heaters.

In their desire to tell the untold story and knowing that icky things catch people's attention, they were 'exposing' ever more obscure problems like they were the biggest thing since...I dunno, something big.

Anyway, its like I bet there will never be another high school trip to Aruba. And I will also bet that only one girl has ever gone missing from there.

44. I feel a little more calmer now
been walking around the neighborhood strangling birds all morning just in case, no use taking any chances :)

Instead of a puppy in the WHite House let's send them all parakeets as our way of showing our appreciation for his killing and murdering just about anything set before him..

Remember when we had real Men who guarded us, took care of us as Americans, even a lot of the times NOT mentioning things that went wrong, just fixing them and letting us go about our lives feeling protected, someone's IN CHARGE.. Father Figure, etc.. Stoicism, Strength, Wit, a Deep Thinker, High Ideals sought instead of words on paper to be uttered like a third grade book report..

I remember those days, I remember MEN in the White House (and strong intelligent women too) and FEAR was something they SOLVED.

They will collapse under their own weight - THEY need adults to STOP them, if no one STOPS them, then they will screw up so bad that they take themselves out of the game..

of course there won't be much left, but we are smart and strong and all the things they are not and we can pull ourselves up and be happy the idiots fell down a well or something :)

There are ALWAYS bigger Bullies, and sometimes Bullies are BETTER than shitty little rich boys..

In Chicago we'd just take Bush out in the yard and kick the shit out of him until he wised up and learned some manners, but nowadays you look at someone funny and you get arrested for assault..

and in a way THAT is how we get people like HIM in the WHite House.

Real men knock each other down, and it's a lesson learned - a lot of people don't understand that now, how that was - or the playfulness and insults for fun, that's all gone now..

or Republicans and Democrats having barbques together and no one felt the need to strangle the other if they disagreed, it was their right, no biggie..

silly scared world today.

45. Right on.
There's a bunch of dementors in the White House, sucking the joy of life out of an entire universe. They're like hall monitors at a catholic grammar school.

Rove looks like a walking corpse, like he gets dug up on a daily basis but forgets to brush the ashes and dirt out of his dead, lifeless patch of hair. Cheney's like a cancerous tumor that you can't get rid of, and Rummy's the tooth abcess that throbs like a muthafucker day & night. There's just no excaping the vaccum into the dead, black hole that swirls around them like a fucking tornado.

Add the media and, jesus, I'm out buying razors blades.
