1. Meirs gives George W. Bush a permanent vote on the court . . .

he wants someone malleable, totally devoted to him personally ("most brilliant man I've ever met"), and with little or no constitutional law experience . . . so he can tell her how to vote on any issues crucial to the neocon agenda . . . putting Meirs on the court is equivilant to putting Bush himself on the court . . .
