Imus plays Elton John's Alice after they talk about Condi Rice's
lesbian rumor

Did anyone hear the details?

Something about a radio talk show guy trying to fix her up with someone on the air

1. I caught the last of it too--
Was trying to check out more info, but what I did hear was James Rosen from Fox News made a comment to Condi in reference to "hooking up" with Lauren Green (also from Fox). I guess they both are accomplished pianists. Apparently this is in the NY Post, but I do not know if they are making the homosexual reference or just Imus.

2. It sounded to me like the radio guy mentioned something
about lesbians right after the interview with her

5. Bbbut she called Georgie her husband

Just because she's 50 something and not married doesn't make her a lesbian. I don't think it's our business.

edited to avoid a flame war.

6. Maureen Dowd must be in therapy for not being able to use that line.
Rice said it at a NYT reception in DC for her.

You'll never see a reference to it in the NYT. It must be driving Dowd nuts. It would me.

7. Thanks for the edit but I didn't do the interview
OR PLAY ALICE!

ROSEN: … All right. I close with a gift for you. You met this person once, I believe, but you really, I think, ought to know each other because this woman is… I think you’ll have an interest in knowing her. She is one of our Fox News anchors in New York. Her name is Lauren Green. She is brilliant, she’s beautiful, she’s African-American, she’s single and she’s a concert pianist in her spare time.

RICE: My goodness.

ROSEN: And she asked me to give you her CD and I promised her that I would.

RICE: That’s perfect.

ROSEN: And here’s her doing a number of different classical pieces.

RICE: Well, that’s special.

ROSEN: So there you have it.RICE: Thank her very much and I look forward to seeing her sometime.

ROSEN: All right. She’s going to want to hear from you.

RICE: And maybe even playing dual piano sometime.

9. I remember when Green was Miss Minnesota
in the eighties. Then a stint as a local anchor. Unremarkable, even then.
