Did I hear this right?

In today's * press conference, I thought I heard him say that he had been Commander when he was in the TX Air National Guard. Are my ears messing with me, or did he really say this?

first he said he was CIC of the National Guard, then later said of Commander of Tx National Guard....... though I think he was referring to when he was GOV. of TX - not his enlisted (AWOL) time.

Made it seem as if not only didn't he blow off his TANG service, he was CIC! I never considered the gov job. Shows what a complete lame ass can do with family connections-pitiful.

Well, that makes a lot more sense. I did only hear part of what he was saying. I didn't make the connection, I guess, because I didn't realize that the state's national guard CIC is the Governor. I thought the President was CIC for all, and it sounded like he was talking about the past.

There I was, thinking he'd downed a few before the press conf.

bothered to show up. So his drinking buddies give him the rank of commander as a joke. Chimpy took it too heart.
