Two can play this game...we have more celebrities than they do
If America is truly becoming Celebrity Nation, then so be it. Time to fight fire with fire, the Dems have way more celebrities than the Republicans do! Bring it on!

1. I was thinking this morning...
...that they might try to push Bruce Willis and Dennis Miller and Kelsey Grammer next.

2. Why not?
Have we ever had a Democratic celeb hold a major office? The Republicans have had Reagan, that Tennessee Senator guy, the casts of LOVE BOAT and DUKES OF HAZZARD.

7. you raise a thorny issue...
there are FAR more democratic celebs. than Republican. FAR MORE. With the exception of the (beloved and tough)Vanessa Redgrave running for parliament in Great Britain on the Labor ticket years ago, liberal celebrities are motivated to talk about politics but have YET to do a DAMN thing about it other than TALK. We knock Reagan and Ahnold and Fred Thompson on this site 24-7, but as activists, they did more than talk about change....they put it all on the line when they dared to actually seek office. I keep waiting for someone like Sean Pean or Susan Sarandon to announce, but no, it's easier just to drop-by peace rallies.

3. Tom Arnold
The Des Moines Register reported this week that actor Tom Arnold is considering a run for the governorship in Iowa. He is a Democrat - but, he campaigned with Arnold. Tom Arnold is obviously well known in Iowa and his love of the Hawkeyes will help him. His Best Damn Sport Show Shots live from Iowa are very well liked here.

I could see him winning here, especially since our sell-out Democratic Governor is not running again.

4. The only difference being that if Arnold had been a Democrat ???
The Repubs would have destroyed him. The Democrats were not able to do that. So I don't think it is true that "two can play this game"...At least not to the same degree of destruction.

9. Why on earth don't our liberal guests on talkshows
Rally against Arnold, as a celebraty who is using his position to force his views down our throats...

you know, like the "liberal Hollywood elites".
