Stupid Americans
All I have heard since * stole the 2000 elections is how Americans are all dumb for electing such a tyrant. Now that Ahnold has won, we hear that all Californians are dumb, screw them, they'll get what they deserve.

The problem is this: What happens when, in 2004, a Democrat is elected President? Did the majority of Americans suddenly become smart? What about Californians? It is only a matter of time (probably in its next gubernatorial election) until California elects a Democrat for governor. Does that mean that all of the Californians who voted for Arnold suddenly got smart? Or is it simply voting for a Democrat that makes them smart? What about those people or groups of people who vote Democrat but don't know why? Are they smart for voting Democrat, or just "lucky" they were born that way?

Don't castigate entire sections of the voting public for voting in a way you disagree with. These same "stupid" "sheeple" are the ones who will eventually elect a Democrat.

1. Welcome Jackcgt.
You make some good points. My feeling is that people are not stupid just because they voted for Arnold or bush. What I feel is stupid, maybe ignorant is a better word, is people do not think for themselves. Too many americans vote for someone because they know the name (from the movies) or because of sound bites they have heard (usually untrue sound bites). Very few people really research and learn the truth about candidates and what is really going on in this country and the world.

4. "Americans are all dumb for electing such a tyrant"
It is my belief that he was not elected, he was apppointed. He didn't win the election. The only section of the voting public I see getting castigated (on DU) are the rethuglican section and guess what, I think they are stupid! Anyone who wants to get their political ideology from the likes of Pigboy, Coulter, Insannity, and O'Lielly don't have an original thought in their head. Those "people" (and I use the term loosly) are out for big ratings and selling books. They twist the truth to their advantage in order to capitalize off it. If the rethuglican voters don't have the insight to realize that then stupid is an understatement.

5. Remember
Elections are not decided by the committed on each side, but by the undecided, the great unwashed , the uninformed, the 'sheeple' if you want. The committed on each side may as well stay at home - they cancel eachother out.
