Juan Williams vs Brit Hume
Did anyone else see the face off between Juan and Brit regarding the Bill Bennett race comment? Juan very hurt, Brit saying people misunderstanding Bill and that Bill is the victim, Juan held his ground. Visibly hurt. All around the table including William Kristol sensing Juan's hurt, Wallace gave Juan the last word and Juan punched back. We need a video of this.

11. Juan is the rare voice of sanity on that network
Although Hume is often able to bully him into silence, on occasion, Juan stands up to him.

2. Juan Williams is probably realizing the people
he works for are racist bigot pigs who would abort him if they had the chance a 1/2 century ago.

3. Maybe Juan will actually start defending the liberal viewpoint.
Eh, FAUX would probably fire him first. They like their liberals soft and squishy like Alam Colmes.

4. If Bill Bennet's character had anything to do with electoral success for
Republicans (and it doesn't -- did his gambling problem matter to anyone?) Juan would not have criticized him.

This is just an opportunity for Juan not to look like he's all about protecting and promoting Republican power where his criticisms won't threaten Republican power.

8. Juan never showed any on NPR. Why would he on Faux?
I quit listening to him after his idea of a strong, independent idea was to agree with Cokie Roberts.

23. I think he tries sometimes...
.. but Brit is right there cutting him off before he says too much.

It really pisses me off, but like Colmes, FAUX probably pays Juan alot to be the token liberal.

6. I heard this over C-Span
radio on computer. Juan sounded extremely personally offended and hurt . . . Hume came across as the cold cold hate mongering dickhead that he is.

And the way Hume took on his usual aire of righteous indignation just makes me want to .... can I strangle him? Can I? Please?

9. Juan's pain was visibly palpable. It reminded me of the
pain in the character in the movie Crash, the black movie director who drove the SUV who had to submit to the police. You could see Juan lowering his eyes and trying to decide what to do and then when Wallace said "OK, Juan you get the last word," he picked up his head and fought back.

10. Everyone who defends Bennett either is insensitive or racist themselves.
That's the only explanation I have for it.

12. It's laughable to watch Hume browbeat Juan on that network
Brit gives little signals, and Juan knows when it's time to shut up, or get fired.

13. Juan Williams
Is a straw man fall guy for Brit Hume. He's paid to get up there and lose arguments like Alan Colmes does to Hannity.

It's a staged farce.

Edited on Sun Oct-02-05 10:56 PM by Neshanic
shilling for the RW, he thought that hanging around with those moral pygmies would be a step up.

Sell it somewhere else Juan. Jerk off.

His own sister calls him an Afro-Saxon. No sympathy here.

25. I'm getting pretty sick of this conservative "victimhood" mentality
Aren't they the ones who started the "Politically Correct" backlash, the ones who made the biggest deal about PC and exxagerated it into mythic (literally mythic, it doesn't exist anywhere like it does in the RW mind) proportions?

Aren't they the ones who said shit like "We don't need political correctness, we need people to take responsibility for their actions"?

And now, we hear that Bush is a victim, Brown is a victim, Rush was a victim, and Bennett is a victim?

:wtf:
