the temp is around 85 which is cooler than it was when Katrina came blasting in.

on edit ... the eastern gulf water temp is around 80 now, btw. The 85 is the western gulf temp.

Rita blew through these parts the day after it hit Texas. It's been gone for almost a week. That's more trouble, probably frontal storms.
