Right-Wing Ideology
I recently purchased a new book by Walter Williams called Reaganism and the Death of Representative Democracy. I recommend this book be read cover to cover by every American in this country. It will open eyes to exactly what the right wingers are doing to our Republic. We are rapidly moving toward Plutocracy people. Wake Up!!

1. Hmmm...
"We are rapidly moving toward Plutocracy people."

Actually, I think we've already been there for a while now. :(

2. Walter Williams
is nuts. He's a Black Conservative. There are others, like Thomas Sowell or Armstrong Williams, who are black and conservative without losing my respect. But after reading William's columns for a while and listening to him host Rush Limbaugh's radio show, I've come to the conclusion that Williams just likes money.

About a year ago, a little less, he made this comment on why we prejudge people. "Suppose leaving your workplace you see a full-grown tiger standing outside the door. Most people would endeavor to leave the area in great dispatch. That prediction isn't all that interesting, but the question why is. Is your decision to run based on any detailed information about that particular tiger, or is it based on tiger folklore and how you've seen other tigers behaving? It's probably the latter.

"You simply pre-judge that tiger; you stereotype him.

He's saying things that some White Conservatives enjoy hearing.

Plus his ideas about what America should do are totally unworkable; basically return to a 18th century style of governance.

3. Respect your opinion but.....
have you read this book? The book shows the damage that Reagan brought to the institutions of governance and how GW has continued what Reagan started. It is a darn good book about how we are headed for institutional collapse of our Republic. Mr. Williams offers in my opinion, good evidence that the right wingers have undedrmined the ability of Americans to hold their government accountable.

Have to double check on this--that doesn't sound like the one I'm thinking abouts take on this issue.

It is--I'm thinking of Walter E Williams who teaches at George Mason, I think. And is an economist--sorry about the confusion. This looks like an interesting book.

5. Professor Emeritus
Mr. Williams is a professor emeritus at the Daniel J. Evans School of Public Affairs, University of Washington. He does contribute to the editorial pages of newspapers across the country according to the info on the back of the book cover. His most recent books are Mismanaging America and Honest Numbers and Democracy. The other Mr. Williams you referred to sounds like a real dumb right winger. As I said before, if possible purchase the book, I have not been able to put it down.
