So should we be worried about soon-to-be Hurricane Stan, now?

Tropical Storms Stan and Otis are targeting Mexico. Stan is swirling across the Yucatan Peninsula; Otis is heading toward the Baja California Peninsula.

Tropical Storm Stan (40 mph) is pushing WNW across the Yucatan Peninsula now. The storm is producing gusty winds and locally heavy rain; isolated totals of up to 15 inches are forecast. Stan is expected to churn into the Bay of Campeche tonight and perhaps restrengthen to a minimal hurricane before striking the Gulf Coast of Mexico sometime midweek.

Current predictions say Stan stays in Mexico.

Yesterday's predictions also placed the rainfall from Otis way too far to the west to help with the CA fires. I don't know how that meme spread throughout the news anchors. Just pollyannaism maybe.
