Am I Asking To Much.....Photos

I just returned from a quick daytrip(7 hours) to WashDC from Seattle to use my flight benefits before they expire as I am a furloughed UA employee.

I had a wonderful 7 hours and was able to fit in Arlington Nat Cem,The White House,Tresury Dep,Capitol,Supreme Court,Jefferson,Lincoln, Washington, and Vietnam Mem.

I was outside the Sup CT when word came down that Roberts was confirmed so I feel like I was part of history.

The last several days I have given much thought to just how many people want to see our nations capitol and never will for one reason or another. We are spending billions monthly for the LIE in Iraq, I just wonder how many trips could have been paid for for someone to see this awesopme city. My thoughts are is the FEDS should pay for one trip in a persons life to WDC it could be taken anytime in a persons life. The only expense the person would be liable for is hotel, food and ground transportation.

I think many people miss out on getting a visual picture of history. What is even more sad is that people from other countrys often time see WDC more than we do.....It took me 40+ years to get there I now have a greater appreciation for this country.

If you would like to see my images.....

4. I spent 2 years there between 8 and 17 years old.
My dad was at the pentagon.

My daughter's 5th grade class (in CA) went there last year for a field trip. The school is liberal, so they hit all the REAL places that need to be seen. It changed her outlook.

I wish ALL Americans could see their roots.
It is VERY powerful.

PS - very cool shots! Do you do it professionally?

6. Great photos!
Yeah, it's too bad it took you so long to make it to DC, that you didn't have a chance to use your travel benefits before now.

I had the good fortune to live there from 1968-1981, and never got over being amazed and impressed at the buildings and museums. Every single spring I was awed by the cherry blossoms. I went to the top of the Washington Monument more times than I can count and always loved the view from the top. I was a docent at the Natural History museum of the Smithsonian for a while, and it inspired me to return to college.

Our capital city is wonderful and amazing, and everyone should get there at least once.

10. Hi rsmith6621!
Photos are great! I hope to get to DC some day, see the Smithsonian, the Capitol, the Vietnam War Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, so many things. Maybe this sounds schmaltzy, but I would love to see these things. Thanks so much for posting!

12. Thanks for Sharing
I haven't had the opportunity to visit our Capitol. Hopefully someday I might get that chance.

I am a graphic artist and was wondering if I could use some of your photos in some of my art work?
