From Penthouse To Outhouse
A week ago we not only had Rush with his facist ramblings being shown the door at ESPN, then there came the Christmas bonus of a pending, long-term drug scandal. At last, the bastard finally got what was coming to him.

Next (of course in no order) were the revelations of treasonous actions in our White House and the CIA calling upon the DOJ to start and investigation...70% of those polled wanted an IC. Get the party hats out...we're gonna see some big fish doin' the frog walk. We may still.

But, my friends, last night really hurt. I mean, it was like not only finding out your boy/girlfriend not only left you for your best friend, but is in the other room going at it right now. We got skunked real bad and there's no other way to look at it right now. The hope is that lessons are about to be learned, changes made so we can achieve our real objective: expelling this un-elected regime next year.

It's not gonna be easy and we have to start organizing now, cause Califoria showed you how well coordiated the other side is. These aren't the Freepers (they just were hearded to the polls), but very slick pros who have even bigger tricks ahead.

Every time I think this regime has overstretched itself (and I firmly believe they have on the economy, Iraq, terror, health care, education, etc.) they always find a way to distract and humiliate us. Here's hoping DU can become a catalyst to bring the needed changes to the Democrat party before we lose the ultimate prize. It's time to coordinate and organize...and really do it!

2. One lesson learned
is that people don't give a rat's behind about character-they just worry that their car taxes went up. Wonder what Californians will do if Ahnold decides that, in order to 'balance' the budget, he cuts all state social programs? Will they mind as long as their car taxes remain low? Have we sunk to the point where it is all mine mine mine and to h*ll with helping others?

3. We're All Selfish
Some more than others. The GOOP has made an artform of arrogance and greed...a perfect example was the Gropinator being embraced by the "Rev" Robert Schueller in his Crystal Cathedral/Drive Through Church. What kind of picture is that sending?

We are in an age of massive greed and self absorbtion/gratification...much of it fueled by decades of commercial materialism that now defines our culture in brand names. The GOOP knows it and plays to it. Yep, the people were pissed about the car tax...any tax...it's one of the biggest games in the playbook that has worked for the Repugnicans for the past 30 years..."tax and spend liberal"...they painted it all over Gray and he never could articulate a message that got across their shouting.

Yep Arnold's gonna have to figure how to replace funds that will be lost with the repeal of the car tax, and, unlike Davis, my bets are our "friends" with big purse strings at 1600 Pennsylania Ave. will be more willing to throw some folding green that way. Arnold will never face the crisis' Davis did.

Not that we have to be pigs like those swine, but we have to identify the tactics they use that make them most effective. Also, that we're going to have to work 10 times as hard next year just to draw even with this well-oiled machine. In 2000, I thought there was enough of a Clinton operation to do it. Today there's nothing.

4. One nitpick
There is no "Democrat Party". It's the DEMOCRATIC Party. Right wingnuts like Tom DeLay and others are the ones who use the word without the -IC ending, trying to separate our party from Democracy and use it in a derogatory manner.
