Poll question: Pick your poison:
About Judy Miller's release, I've seen people who think it will be the end of certain NeoCons and others who think it is a sign they've finally gotten a story straight.

No matter what you think the outcome will be, assume you will be wrong. Would you rather be

8. Actually I did, that was a saying my mother often used
and she was born in 1910, went through the depression and all.

3. git those hopes up, act with confidence, give off aura of success
otherwise we risk looking too much like the democratic leadership in Congress and Senate.

If our swaggers piss off the neocons, to quote another DUer, well Boo-Fucking-Hoo. If you confidence makes those on the fence realize that our warnings should have been taken to heart, even better. AND if our aura clouds the judgment of the pnacs trying to put Humpty's pieces back together, jeez, I feel for them. But natural reticence and moral feelings prevent me from saying exactly what I feel.

4. I learned one useful thing from boy scouts: be prepared
Be prepared. A simple and pithy sentiment. If one applies it to real life, it makes one into a realist. One may hope for the best and expect the worst.

Being prepared keeps one from crashing to the ground every time something bad happens.

I hope that the shit hits the fan on this and on the Tom DeLaymedownanddryhumpme indictment. However, I am also prepared. I know that the media will turn these into shell games. While we are watching the "magic" they spin, the pukes will be in the wings, laundering reality to a dingy grayish color after their latest buggering of America on the self-same sheets.

5. Well, its not that I'd rather be pessimistic
its just that, given the current track record, it just seems like a more realistic approach.

9. The team that expects to win usually does
At least that's my experience.

I've played basketball in the past, and right now I'm playing a lot of the battlegrounds in World of Warcraft (a team setting for an online game), and in most case the team that expects to win is usually the one who does.

IN part it's because if you think you are going to lose why try all that hard?
