Tom Delay: the Sadaam Hussein of the GOP
Think about it. Ever since the Republicans gained the majority in the House, Tom Delay has dictated the direction and agenda to a divergent group of Congresscritters who have various agendas and desires.

That's about what Hussein did in Iraq.

And Delay has been using brutal tactics to get this divergent group of Congresscritters to bend to his will and more importantly, the will of the Busheviks, which is what Hussein did in the eighties with regards to teh will of the Reaganistas.

Delay is as weak right now as Hussein was after the Gulf War.

Take out DeLay, and the GOP civil war starts.

2. It will be interesting
Because you are right - if DeLay is forced to evacuate his perch in the Conservative Movement (and I'm not really talking about his official position) than there will be many moving in to fight over it.

I want to see this dance to its final step. Nothing more gratifying than to see a pack of hungry wolves devouring themselves. This has got to be the most power-hungry bunch that ever stepped on the scene.

It will be a thing of beauty to see them all bloodied!

5. It's takes a strongman to tame the Kurds, Shias, and Sunnis
just like it takes a strongman to tame the fiscal conservatives, the religious conservatives and the neo-conservatives.
