5. A report came out the other day....
that while in Afghanistan he told someone that he was against the Iraq War, voted for Kerry and was trying to get other soldiers to vote for Kerry.

6. I heard he was a dupe for ANSWER. He was trying to
co-opt the Afghani anti-war movement and setting up a stage for Palestinians to speak on the subject of American imperialism throughout the third world when he was killed by friendly fire.

He was a major Kerry supporter, even though at the time of his death, Kerry looked like toast in the Democratic primary race.

7. Depends on what you mean by "confirmation".

His mom was a source of some of the comments, as well as soldiers he served with. I don't think there's anything of him on tape explicitly saying "I hate Bush." or whatever but I see no reason to doubt the accounts by his mom or fellow soldiers.

Here's the SF Gate article that sparked the new discussion:

On Edit: had typed "fellow Marines", then realized he was in Army, making him a soldier. Apologies to any Marines - don't kill me and shit.

8. Who can say?
Although I would find it ironic if he did support Kerry, I think using him and his death for any sort of political "gotcha" is wrong. Tillman joined the military and served his country without fanfare. He didn't want to be in the public light. I say we honor his wishes.
