Justice Scalia, pi$$ed off that so many years of personal lobbying for the Chief Justice spot have now been wasted, and perhaps feeling stabbed-in-the-back by the Republicans, lightens up on his RW rubber stamp role, and turns into another Anthony Kennedy.

The only way he could move toward the center is if a cattle stampede was coming at him from his right. Even then, he'd probably do an about face before starting to run.

8. It Depends

On how much he thought the Chief Justice seat would fall to him by default based on his seniority, and how much he thought it was due him. He might have been as far right as they come, but sometimes those are the very ones that when hit with an insult such as being passed over for the Chief Justice nod from the Pres. could in fact as a way of getting even, move to the center or maybe even left of center. I frankly see it as a huge insult to Scalia to have been passed over fort the Chief Justice seat.
