Witness: 'Intelligent Design' Doesn't Qualify as Science
http://ap.tbo.com/ap/breaking/MGBTL3W56EE.html

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - The concept of "intelligent design" is a form of creationism and is not based on scientific method, a professor testified Wednesday in a trial over whether the idea should be taught in public schools.

Robert T. Pennock, a professor of science and philosophy at Michigan State University, testified on behalf of families who sued the Dover Area School District. He said supporters of intelligent design don't offer evidence to support their idea.

"As scientists go about their business, they follow a method," Pennock said. "Intelligent design wants to reject that and so it doesn't really fall within the purview of science."

Pennock said intelligent design does not belong in a science class, but added that it could possibly be addressed in other types of courses.

You don't say?

1. This needs to be repeated again and again:
ID IS NOT SCIENCE. ID IS NOT SCIENCE

It's not testable, there cannot be a hypothesis it ain't science and it shouldn't be taught as science

3. A very good point
"As scientists go about their business, they follow a method..."

So, if ID is adapted, will scientists just put down their notebooks, throw up their hands and say "Of course! God did it! Well, my work is done."

4. ID is the nose of the creationist camel in the tent
There are multiple documented pieces of evidence that the ID people are working to get Jesus and religion into the science class and schools.

5. How the hell did we get to this point?
I mean I just don't get it. Even my RW dad smugly told me that as far as the bible went, a "day" could mean anything God wanted it too, even billions of years (yes, Dad:eyes: ) And he's not even religious, he just likes to spout of RW talking points so we can get into a good arguement.
Where did this get to the point we're we have to debate it? If there was a ID'er, I'm assuming it would be hightly insulted by the crap coming out of these idiots mouths, since it's "intelligent"
