If the exit polls are correct
18%, or just under 1 out of 5 Democrats, voted for Arnold. Just what in God's name were they thinking? I can see voting against Davis. I wouldn't have. But I can see it. But voting for Arnold?! Arnold has no experience. Arnold is a pig towrds women. Cruz and Arnold agreed on every social issue. That leaves Arnold's economic issues which seem pure Republican. So what in God's name were these idiots thinking?

1. they just voted the name, that's all
Edited on Tue Oct-07-03 11:15 PM by jenk
he had the star appeal, and to them he was a democrat posing as a liberal repug. They can go for that.

Mcclintock could never win this.

and look at this, cnn says with 16% of precincts reporting, the YES on recall only leads 56-44, so we had a chance early on.

9. Bingo! Drooling Celebirty Worshippers
Slavish is what it is.

But Imperial Amerika is a nation of slaves, who will gradually settle more fully into that role as the decades roll onward, I think.

There's a lot of history to drop down the Memory Hole and some generations raised under the Old Republic must pass on before that state will fully be achieved.

(that's if these shadows remain unaltered by the future)

4. I'll Tell You What They Are Thinking
They Are Thinking Of It As A Show - Remember, Alot Of Our Democrat Brothers Aren't As Informed As We Would Believe - They Are All Wrapped Up In The Show - It's Unbelieveable But True - My Brother Lives In CA And Although He Voted No On The Recall He Has Several Peers (democratic ones) Who Voted For Arnold - It's All The Show And The Sooner We Realize This The Better

5. My Dem sister voted yes on the recall and for Arianna.
(Absentee before Arianna withdrew.)

She was overcome by anger toward Gray Davis for some of the CUTS he made in spending and I could not talk her out of voting for the recall.

By the way, she says that whatever happens things will not go well for California.

6. They were seduced by Arnie and the make-believe world of movies,
they really think that he will make movie magic and they will all be happy again. They live in a movie land world.

8. Its just name recognition
Not all democrats are that smart although just by party affiliation they are way ahead of their republican counterparts. This was strictly name recognition and nothing more. How else could anyone possibly be elected governor of California and no one know anything about him or his agenda for the state?

11. I live in CA and.....
the name recognition was of course a big thing, but have you looked at the candidates really good???? We have got to raise the bar that was lowered for Bush so we can get people in who aren't just millionaires. If we don't change that, we will never have anyone who isn't bought by someone. Davis was a really bad governor and Cruz got caught with his hand in the cookie jar; I voted no on the recall and then held my nose and voted for Cruz, but I sure didn't want to, so I can understand why people voted for Arnold. They really believe that Maria and Ted will keep him in check, and I sure hope they are right - he has more to lose going against Maria than he does going against Bush so let's just hope this isn't as bad as we think. We will get through this - Hell, we got through Pete Wilson, the worst of the lot. Don't curse us too much - the choices on both sides were pathetic.

12. Who do you think is running Ahnold's campaign?
Him? Nah, it's Pete Wilson and his boys. That's who you've got now. Ahnold doesn't have a single notion about being governor.

So, California gets Pete back, in disguise.
