I think DeLay's career is likely over

Don't get me wrong, I think it's entirely likely that DeLay could find a sympathetic judge or appellate court in Texas (and there are a lot of them here)to throw out the indictment, or conviction if he is convicted. Could he be acquitted? Sure he could.

But even if all that happens, I just don't see Republicans wanting to bring him back into a position of leadership. And you know he won't want to be a back bencher.

He was re-elected with 55% of the vote last year against an underfunded opponent. Let me say that again for emphasis. The House Majority Leader, in a district carried by Bush overwhelmingly, won re-election with 55% of the vote against an opponent that few people knew anything about.
