My letter to the NYT (Plame)

Why has the President has not taken an active role in rooting out the members of his administration who blew the cover of CIA agent Valeria Plame? (Bush Says Inquiry May Be Unable to Find Leaker of C.I.A. Identity, October 7.) The administration is passively cooperating with the Justice Department probe, with seeming indifference to whether or not the culprits are exposed. Meanwhile those who ordered, condoned, and committed this offense against national security are still in the government. At some point, the nation will be entitled to presume that a full disclosure of the Plame Affair would deeply wound the administration, and that the President is simply playing for time.

If more people keep writing to their editors and keep bugging their reps., this story won't go away! I intend to write a letter to my editor, especially after Bush's comments today during his cabinet meeting. This lakadaisical attitude is all the more reason for an independent counsel.

We'll see if the editorial board can get their heads out of PNAC's butt long enough to publish it. Sometimes they make exceptions to the fascist propaganda they usually proffer.

5. Remind everyone

that this is the administration that made the proclamation that they were going to bring honor and dignity back to the white house. If that is true, they should have nothing to fear from a special prosecutor, right??
