20. Well the hearing has cleared up WHY Brownie got his job.
He is dumber than the prez and that has got to make Commander Über Loon happy.

Brownie can't keep his lies straight, his excuses untangled, his finger pointing in line, he misspeaks, mumbles, and is making a "hugh" ass of himself. Übie loves Brownie for making him look like a mental dot rather than a speck. Good boy, Brownie, good boy.

14. Seems to me this Brownie appearance is a disaster for the Coward.
Not just how incompetent he is personally.

But he is also talking about huge funding problems and FEMA being stripped down by the Coward.

Also he has talked about his contacting Chertoff, Card and the Coward long before Chertoff and co. have let on. He has contradicted statements by Chertoff and the Coward like "we could not have anticipated blah blah.

Am I wrong?

He's breathtaking in his arrogant incompetence - beyond belief. He's no even aware of his own incompetence, it seems. I can't think of a worse person to work for -- totally tone-deaf. He's as bad as Bolton ... maybe worse, if that's even conceivable.

if they have not already. We were going under colored alerts every few days for several years with the W.H. scaring the bejeezuz out of everyone, what was FEMA doing to prepare for a catastrophic attack? IOW, why are we NOT prepared for something of this magnitude four years later?

25. Let's hear Brown lay some turds at the feet of Chertoff, first.
There's no question that Chertoff interfered and added to the monstrous clusterfuck that was FEMA's "response" to Katrina. Brown is blaming anyone in sight, at this point, since he's completely beyond any approximation of competent.

While it's really impossible to underestimate the intelligence of the majority of Mississippi voters, it really strains imagination to think Republican incumbants are 'safe' in LA or MS next year.

http://www.dissidentvoice.org/Sept05/Leopold0910.htm

Michael Brown, the embattled head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, approved payments in excess of $31 million in taxpayer money to thousands of Florida residents who were unaffected by Hurricane Frances and three other hurricanes last year in an effort to help President Bush win a majority of votes in that state during his reelection campaign, according to published reports.

Why does he keep repeating "we can't do it all the same time". Taylor's just asking about why FEMA sent brochures w/phone numbers to an area w/o power. What does that have to do with anything else? He keeps spinning off the topic because he doesn't have an answer.

I really didn't see any whitewashing. The Congress asked very tough questions & seemed uniformly pretty horrified by Brownie's answers. While it would be good if more Democrats were there, I really think the Republican members did a pretty good job of exposing Brown's ineptitude.

78. right now Randi Rhodes is covering Drownie's testimony today and
clearly pointing out how he has perjured himself and consequently has implicated the President with dereliction of duty. She is really hammering it home. I just wrote and told her to get all of the evidence to Olbermann. Somebody's got to catch this liar out immediately on the television. I think KO is the only one with the set to do it. I fear the pirannha press has returned to being the poodle press again. We shall see.

80. Rep. Jefferson introduced Gov. Blanco's request into record today and
talked about it. Brownie should be prosecuted for perjury, or unbelievable ignorance of what Blanco asked for in writing.

81. It also leads straight to Bush no. The questioner from Iowa mentioned
that the President left out Orleans county in his directive to FEMA.

82. Seems the spinning machine has pined down the blame on Blanco
I heard a couple of people talking about this at the store. She didn't order evacuations on time...Who have you heard reporting this?

85. Wow, brownie did nothing wrong
All systems were working, they did all things right.
Mayors, govs and people who didn't evacuate and troublemakers were to blame.
Wow.

86. Earlier ... Harold Rogers (R) Kentucky ....
Edited on Tue Sep-27-05 05:31 PM by doublethink
made the point of stressing why N.O. wasn't evacuated like the prior Wednesday (aug 24) trying to stress the incompetence of the local officials. Fact: That Wednesday Katrina was just becoming a storm in the Bahamas. Then Rogers goes on to ask Brown if the local officials did anything Friday (aug 26th) to evacuate? Brown says not to his knowledge, again stressing as if the Local N.O. government were incompetent ..... Fact: That Friday (aug 26) Katrina was hitting south Florida as a Cat 1 hurricane, and no-one knew if it was going to grow or just where the f...k it was going to go. So this shifting blame of the evacuation b.s. of Brown and co. is more slight of hand trying to take the lack of FEMA response off subject.
