"Blessed are the peacemakers:for they shall be called the children of God"
That quote, Matthew 5:9. Does it refer to policemen/military or diplomats?

I'm not entirely certain.

No. That's not very kind. I think it refers to people who the corporations have not bought yet.

6. It is the Beatitudes, and it is true Christianity. Unadorned. Here it is
Not a Dick Cheney sentiment in any of it. Screw that. This is what is right. This is what I believe. Don't let them define Christianity. This is what it is all about. I believe.

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,
for they shall possess the earth.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for justice,
for they shall be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure of heart,
for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called sons of God.

Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice sake,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

9. Thanks for posting the Beatitudes here. They really are great.
This administration doesn't live them, no matter what they say. "And by their fruits ye shall know them."

10. I like the last one best
I think a persons reaction to the words would tell much about their true nature.

7. "As you do to the least of these, so you do to me" . . .
is another Biblical quotation worthy of mention, particularly in light of what's happening to the poor people of New Orleans and other areas of the Gulf . . . those who claim to be Christian and complain about government helping the poor are self-delusional hypocrites . . .

8. That's my belief too. True Christians don't value money over
humans.

11. Your correct, ..hence the many are called but few are chosen and
to those whom much is given, much is expected. Unfortunately, these are not favorites with the RW.
