It's amazing that there are still a couple of Tweety defenders popping up here and there. The last time he was certifiably one of us was back around 1988 when Hardball the book was published. His "turning" started with his flunky worship of success, in his case, the succes of RAYGUN in thrashing Tweety's Dem bosses. After that, he was mentored by G.E.RUSSERT into "broadening" his Dem partisanship, "reaching out" to the wingnuts the way G.E.RUSSERT had started to do in reaching out to LIMBOsevic.

There is something in pop psych called "the emotional bank account." He proved himself as a Dem operative back when, and the people who knew of him then have this RESERVE/savings-account of belief and trust in him. Then they lost track of what he's been up to in the past 5 years, and they still think of him the way he was before.

1- He is our enemy. 2- The last time he was identifiably a Democrat was circa 1988 when his book, Hardball, was first published. 3- He's a political flunky who worships SUCCESS, and started "turning" through admiration for RAYGUN's kicking his Dem bosses' rears. 4- He was ABSOLUTELY VICIOUS to President GORE all through Campaign 2000. 5- He triggered a gun incident by INCORRECTLY naming Kathleen WILLEY's supposed "jogger" (Pat BUCHANAN's mentally ill brother took the gun to the house). 6- He is a de facto wingnut operative. 7- He voted for Shrub. The fans still use the line that he was strongly against the Iraq attack---------uh, no, he made some jabs at it, then rapidly backpeddled when the military rah-rah took over. They say he has "been hard on the Shrubbites in the past few weeks-----uh, no, he throws a crumb every now and then, out of his egoistic puffery that he can "PLAY Right and PLAY Left and drive the opposite side NUTS." To this day he has ignored Enron, changing the subject to cover for Shrub.
