Polling issues in Bakersfield
My parents just voted and it's a bit of a mess. With the precints being bunched together, it was pain to figure out for them where to go. When they got to the polling place (a church and my mom had to stopping cussing about the whole thing being a joke), they had to make sure they were at the correct table. If you didn't bring your sample ballot, you have to look up your name on multiple lists to figure out where to go. The clincher ...... NO BOOTHS!!!! There were no voting booths to cast your ballot!!! You just walk over to some jive ass table and vote. They used the scan type ballots and my mom saw as plain as day how one other man voted (he voted yes and for A-Hole ... she wanted to :kick: him).

Is this a crock or what?

1. Oh Great!
Is that what I have to look forward to after work when I go vote?

Did your parents vote at the church on North Chester?

That's where I have to go. A damn church!

3. Other end of town from me
Stockdale and Ming is where the new Krispy Kreme donut shop is located.

I hate Krispy Kreme donuts. :(

4. My mom the activist!!
My mom talked the Kern County Democratic Committe and reported the problems. They told her that there were several other calls.

5. WTF??? 2/3 of the polling places aren't even open - they couldn't BORROW
some proper voting equipment from one of them?

6. That's what I was thinking.
My mom was so pissed, she's been voting since 1960 and she's never voted at a polling place with out a booth.
