I just got this email from a friend of mine who went to the SLC war protest yesterday. Doesn't surprise me at all. :(

According to a friend of mine, Clear Channel 4 estimated the crowd at yesterday's protest at 300. The station ignored the city's mayor and the huge crowd, estimated by the police and the organizers, as stated in today's Salt Lake Tribune, at between 1000 to 2000, to focus on the six arrests. Granted the latter are important, but to misrepresent badly the estimates of the large number of people who came out to protest the war in Iraq is shameful.


We are good at writing letters to newspapers editors, but it is also important to challenge television management of the news.
If you feel so moved, you can call Channel 4 at 801-975-4444 to express your concern and your desire for accurate news reporting.


Channel 4, by the way, is the same television station that refused to air the Cindy Sheehan ad.
