Asking Franklin Graham philosophical questions about
why bad things happen to good people is like ....

(Please give me some good, creative comparisons.)

Franklin Graham has a license to preach and marry people. His degree is in Business Administration. He runs a business that is in the religion industry. As far as I can tell, he has never been to seminary or taken a philosophy class.

Why the heck would This Week w/ G.S. bother asking him about philosophical perspective on why the innocent suffer hardships like the hurricanes?

3. I guess he asked Franklin Graham because
the Devil was already booked elsewhere. If you can't get the man himself, get one of his assistants.

4. Why is that more stupid than asking any preacher that question?
There is no Santa Claus. The congenital weakness in an artery has no care with how much its victim loves life or how well he treats others. There is no political cure to natural constraint and competing desire. Bad things happen to good people because the laws of physics are amoral. Seminaries are institutions to turn accomodating individuals into the next generation that propagates the seminary's sect, not founts of philosophy.

Take two doses of reality, and call us in the morning.

:hippie:

5. That's why I mentioned the part about the philosophy class,
much less a major in it. Your response pretty well sums the whole thing.
