Any coverage of the rally/march in MSM evening news on TV?
My kids are watching a cartoon so I am cut off from reality here.

1. CNN Headline News has a 15 -second clip on it
but I've seen nothing else except on our local cable Newschannel 8, which gave it about 30 seconds of air time. I live in Maryland right outside DC so it is a local news story for us as well as national.

Our local NBC, ABC and CBS affiliates are showing sports stuff but they should start their evening news reports at 6:30 pm.

3. Both my ABC and CBS affiliates are showing college football till 7pm
Only my NBC station is even showing an evening national newscast tonight, starting at 6:30. The other networks are going to be showing football and fluff all evening. CNN has had very brief coverage mentioning several thousand protestors and several hundred Bush supporters in D.C.

5. NBC's Brian Williams is doing nothing but hurricane
and it looks like MSNBC and CNN are doing hurricane-only as well.

I bet the little weasels are happy to have an actual excuse for not covering a major anti-war demo this time.

12. Just now, there was a footnote:
Today in Washington D.C., thousands protested the Iraq War. Speakers included the Reverend Jackson and Cindy Sheehan - the mother of a dead soldier. Several hundred counter protestors assembled on a rooftop. A police line separated the two groups.

(Or something to that effect)

Flashed a two second video of the rally...

When we return, more on Hurricane Rita....

Cut to commercial.

Note: this was on the second half hour of viewing and not all NBC affiliates were carrying this portion of the evening news.

13. WUSA (CBS affil.) report horribly biased!
Pardon me while I finish throwing up.

Our DC-area CBS affiliate, WUSA, just reported on the march in DC.
They grudgingly gave the number of marchers as about 100,000, which is the number the MSM has all agreed to report. They showed various demonstrators marching, and a brief shot of Cindy, with Jesse Jackson at her shoulder wiping his face. I think they tried to focus on the scruffiest looking people they could find.

After 10 to 15 seconds, they went to covering the counter-demonstrators (all 100 or so) and what they were saying, and interviewed some of them, and showed several shots of cute little toddlers holding flags and pictures of their daddies serving in Iraq, with - get this - the National Anthem playing in the background. This was what WUSA played as background, not something that was played at the rally. Oh, how very patriotic compared to those anti-war demonstrators.

I think they gave as much time, if not more, to the pro-war nutcases, who were pretty much wrapped in their flags.

This was one of the most biased pieces of tv reporting I have seen since the coverage of the Vietnam war protests. And I speak as someone who worked as a professional (print) journalist for more than 30 years before leaving newspaper work.

I guess the skunks are getting scared.

14. ABC World News Tonight showed the protest.
They showed the crowds in all their glory, as well as Cindy and Jesse Jackson, etc.

Not a long segment, under 30 seconds, but it was brought up and shown well.
