Watching C-span now
Edited on Sat Sep-24-05 11:10 AM by madokie
It's a bitter sweet moment for me. I'm one of the one's who came home from VN a changed person to a changed America. Maybe because of this Anti-war rally I can have a closure to these feelings I've had for so long, maybe. Please, America Wake UP, PLEASE.
:cry:
Son just called to see if I was watching. 25 years old, a future leader
It's all about FREEDOM

5. Her last name was Harris. Sorry I forgot the first and I don't
have a clue who she is, but she was really belting out the "war no more" song.

Evelyn Harris, who has been singing professionally for over 30 years, will work with vocalists and lead the vocal classes. A former member of the internationally acclaimed group Sweet Honey in the Rock, she has also received a Grammy nomination for her original work.

Makes sense that it would be her.

10. You are so not alone, madokie!
Many of us have thought we were awake all along, and still got blindsided by stolen elections and lies upon lies upon lies.

Other people are starting to wake up now - one at a time.

We shall overcome.

15. madokie, I wanna address you personally as a VN vet
I was young during that war, I marched for peace, and the war ended 2 years after i finished high school. As vets were coming home, many expressed hard feelings about being spat on and called baby killers by us "peace folks". So when I was 22 I joined the Army to do penance, in a way, even I never spat or called vets names.

I remember the mobile wall for VN vets and visted it with a VN vet. He went back later alone. I saw guys come home never to be the same.

I think the peace movement learned from you all, how much some of us hurt you guys. Thanks for your service, welcome home, and healing thoughts headed straight at you! :) {{HUGS}}
