Anyone else notice that while Bush was on the ground yesterday...
...that MSNBC was describing the water flowing through the levees like Niagara Falls as "seeping" which had caused some "over-topping"? They were doing there very best to minimize the flooding while Bush Baby was on the scene. They wouldn't use the word "breached" either. A couple of the newsreaders almost said "breached" but they caught themselves and changed it to "over-topping". I wonder why they would do that?

And then a MSNBC reporter who never would have been near Bush if Bush's minions didn't want him near asks Bush if he might be in the way of operations. Half hour later Bush cancels his stay in the hurricane zone because...he might be in the way of operations.

Things worked out well for Bunker Boy after all.

1. Yep!
I was watching footage of the water flooding in and called out to my husband in the next room, advising him of it. He replied back "Yeah, it's seeping in." He was on the computer at the time, and must have caught one of the "seeping" reports. I yelled at him, "Come in here in look at this!" and he did. He stared at the TV a moment, and then said something like "Seeping my ass, the levee breached again!" I explained that no, the levee was holding for the moment, and that this water was coming over the top of it. He said that either way, it wasn't seeping, it was a damned flood.
Pictures do speak louder than false words.

3. I watched the Weather Channel
last night, and they showed the water pouring over the levee. No commentary, no spin, just the photo. Think I'll just watch TWC for my hurricane news from now on....

2. Bush wasn't in NOLA was he?
I thought he went directly from DC to Colorado.

8. I had the impression he was in Texas somewhere and on his way...
...to Austin from there? He may have still been in DC, but it didn't appear to be the White House. Looked like some kind of disaster center somewhere? Might have been another "set" for the cameras somewhere to make Bush look like he is in charge?

4. "Levee and breach" is a no-no.
"That of which we must never speak."

"For whom, it suddenly occurred to him to wonder, was he writing this diary? For the future, for the unborn? ... For the first time the magnitude of what he had undertaken came home to him. How could you communicate with the future? It was of its nature impossible. Either the future would resemble the present in which case it would not listen to him, or it would be different from it, and his predicament would be meaningless."  - Winston Smith, from Orwell's 1984

5. Watched a number of news reports yesterday and heard breached used
many times, as well as failed and flooded. In one report I saw, the reporter was talking to a Corp of Engineers official and used the word breached. The CoE quickly corrected the reporter and said the levee wasn't breached it was over-topped. He went on to explain that all the flooding was happening in areas already breached, and temporarily repaired. A breach is when the wall itself fails. What they have here is the water over-topping the repairs they made.

Also was not aware Bush went to NOLA yesterday. Thought he was scheduled to go to Austin,TX then CO. Ended up skipping Austin and going straight to CO.

6. No photo-ops in TX with Gov. HairProducts, the other well-known failure
Junior is battling poor polls, now. KKKarl won't let him come to Texas to be seen next to the gov. who let the highways in this state turn into a living hell for millions. Not a chance. However, had the evacuation gone well, Junior would be here ASAP. Don't doubt that. Now they're going to let Gov. MoFo shoulder the blame and start pushing their support to little Scotty McRunningMouth's mommy in her bid to run as TX governor.

7. The footage I watched sure looked like a breech
It looked like a huge gaping hole with water pouring back into the city, later they only showed what appeared to be water coming over top a levee.
