CNN's Cafferty -- hilarious e-mail:
Edited on Thu Sep-22-05 03:29 PM by tgnyc
He asked what will be different this time. Answer from Rick in Tampa:

1) Condi Rice bought her shoes today instead of during the after-flood sale
2) Laura Bush has mastered "Rita"
3) Barbara Bush in an undisclosed location
4) Bush doesn't anticipate a breach of the levees in Houston
5) Cheney will not be visiting the hurricane-ravaged areas for fear of being told "go BLANK yourself!" again

14. Yesterday,
when Cafferty crackd wise about DeLay - "Has he been indicted yet?" - I figured that was the moment at which this alleged administration jumped the shark.

Sounds even better today.

I despise Wolf Blitzer.

23. Cafferty should have his own show and Wolfie would make
better use of his own talents by being the studio "gofer".

"How do you take your coffee, Mr. Cafferty, sir?"

29. All I'm sayin' is, if CNN wants to increase their numbers,
it would be a smart move.

Just think of all the ex-Republicans who are used to the "tough-talk".
But unlike Bill O'Reilly, Cafferty sticks close to the truth. He's even interested in it!

A lot of those newly-minted Democrats and long-timers disgusted with Republican incompetence and shenanigans are a built-in audience for The "Talk With Cafferty" hour.

Not to mention the Independent voters.

34. Absolutely
It's time for snide, and Jack's the man, I believe.

Jon Stewart's been getting really snide about the Illegal Squatters In The White House, doing his cackling imitations of Ratface almost every show.

Shark. Jump. Oh, god, please ............................

31. Excellent use of the phrase "jump the shark"!
I figured that Cafferty's crack about Delay + the National Enquirer cover together HAD to be a sign of their having jumped the shark - though the 'episode' began a few weeks back...

From UrbanDictionary.com:

jump the shark: a term to describe a moment when somethin that was once great has reached a point where it will now decline in quality and popularity. Origin of this phrase comes from a Happy Days episode where the Fonz jumped a shark on waterskis. Thus was labeled the lowest point of the show. <http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=jump+the+shark>

he said has he been indicted yet and then even Blitzer laughed....I never saw Cafferty before Katrina - I don't watch any of that cable dribble - but I got the impression he WAS pro freak in chief - guess he isn't now - he has done several amazing * bashing pieces....

40. I think you're right and I'm not even invoking my grand scheme
theory that it's time to go. * is so incompetent, so much of the time that people like Cafferty who can think through problems with a degree of intellectual honesty have no choice...derision.

I think Wolf is paid by the comment, rather than the project, so he can't jump ship without losing some real money. Cafferty is simply reflecting the reality of the apogee of incompetence, NOLA.

Another shark jumping moment was when Brian Williams (a snarky Republican previously) turned 180 degrees and started going medieval on the * folks.

These are very encouraging events!

25. I realized why Cafferty had his "St Paul" moment with Katrina
Before he started reading emails, Jack stated in the previous segment that he had a daughter who was attending Tulane (which is in NOLA).

I guess the total ineptitude of the Bushreich finally hit close to home for Mr. Cafferty. Now he knows what the rest of us have felt like for the past five years.
