Edited on Thu Sep-22-05 12:57 PM by Melodybe
You will be right there with me in my heart. I love you guys so much.

I am so excited, I can't wait to meet some of you.

We're going to Washington folks, we are going to be standing in the place where Martin Luther King said, "I have a dream." I've never been to Washington and this trip is going to cathartic and will be something that I am proud of for the rest of my life!

I'm gonna be there, I can't believe it.

Thank you to bbgrunt and all of my liberal professors at Ole Miss that made this trip possible!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

4. You're not the first to make that request, if at all possible
there will be mooning.

But not me cause I am entirely too modest for that, my married butt stays in my pants.

7. please add an extra two obscene gestures...
on behalf of my 11-year old son and I. We were scheduled to ride the peace train from New Orleans but had to cancel, for obvious reasons.

11. Will do, it will be the most emphatic middle figer I have ever flipped
In fact it will be the most emphatic middle finger I will ever flip, for the rest of my life.

I'll feel it, I'll remember it.

14. I will be there in spirit Melodybe!
Thank you for going for the ones that can't. Washington is a beautiful city. I have been there a bunch of times but the spirit of democracy, reverence for those who came before us displayed in all of the monuments is truly awe-inspiring.

I recommend viewing, if you can, the Vietnam memorial at night. I had visited once during daylight but years later I went back again at night and it was even more powerful. I think because at night you can lose yourself in the shadows and that bit of privacy drives the experience deeper. If you have ever lost someone you know the magnitude of the loss of just one person. When you see all of the names, all of the people, the futility and horror of war is so clear.

I have read many of your posts Melody, and I was especially sympathetic when I read the email from the RW friend of yours. Some people can't be reasoned with. Some people have so much invested in their belief system that it is too painful or frightening to have it challenged. I have no close relationships with the real freep types because it is just too much to deal with.

Anyway, thank you for marching for us. Watch out for the fascists! ;-)

18. Sending good vibes your way from Québec city.
I wish I had the money to be there with all of you. Will follow it on DU and TV. Our public TV station CBC and RDI (french) generally show more about protests.

Thank you Melodybe.
