5. You need to remember that they consider

themselves to be highly intelligent and articulate and all that. It is just not possible for any of them to comprehend the idea of anyone being more educated or informed. So they do think we are that stupid because they only have the capacity of their little flea brains to think with. Anything more complicated than that is out of their intellectual reach.

overtakes smart/stupid. They use fear and dole it out in different incarnations to various groups. Fear is what they need. People will believe anything to keep from feeling fear.
