cooler heads don't prevail
Cry and rage, swear and throw yourself to the ground, tear your clothes and heave your cookies if necessary.

Just be careful to not hurt yourself or anyone else in the process.

Contrary to all we have been mistaught, it is possible, even necessary, to separate action from overwhelming emotion.

Don't just do something, stand there and emote.

Let the horror of the day wash trough you untrammeled and untamed.

No-one will be hurt and you will end up much less confused about what the monsters are doing to us.

I have been trying to convince my activist friends for years to have "scream-ins," rather than demonstrations.

I am sure this would work, but the idea continues to be ignored.

And what would emotionally impaired morally inferior Bush people do with thousands of screaming crying people raging ?You know the TV cameras could NOT ignore such a spectacle...

1. I'm all for a scream-in
Not a day goes by that I don't wonder why the hell everyone isn't screaming.

2. Sure it wouldn't ignore them --
It would train the cameras right on them, and commentators would point and laugh and say, "Look at the whining liberals."

3. they do that anyway
even though we're not "whining"

No. The best thing we can all do is unify our voices. We need to march every time there is something worth marching for, tens or hundreds of thousands. If it's important enough to wail and tear hair for it's important enough to overwhelm with numbers.

4. More than marching
we need to be there with video cameras or video phones to record the injustice being done, whether it is to a hapless person caught in a demonstration (as happened in NYC) or to a group of people being denied the right to vote. THEN we need to create an underground network where such videos are shared and distributed-either on DVDs or over the 'net.
