Fax to Rove accidentally intercepted. (rawstory)
A screw-up landed a fax to Rove from Lamar Smith in a Dem-freindly fax machine.

It reads in part.

Enforcement of immigration laws, current and new, should come first to satisfy the increasing public demand for border security. ... Current laws need to be better enforced so American people see results immediately. (Liberals can easily and accurately be painted as opposing enforcement.)

(emphasis mine)

So, leap to the defense of illegal aliens, folks. Leap away. Apply more effort in their defense than you do for the poor among legitimate American citizens. Shout long and hard at the INS and volunteer border patrol program. Play right the fuck into Rove's hands. :sarcasm:

2. don't put much stock in rawstory
i hope there's more truth in this story than in the red cross "expose"

certainly we need better enforcement of immigration laws but i'm not holding my breath

the GOP wants its cheap maids & lawn care crew & who cares if they drive the price of labor down for actual citizens

4. I Just Know TB is going to
come up with some sort of distraction.

The WH has a year to recover before the 06 mid-term elections. If Bush is not doing any better than this at that time, all the Dems will be including a picture of their opponent hugging up with the "lowest rated president ever."

But, I still think Rove (if he stays out of jail) can cook up some kind of trumped up diversion. The imaginary EVIL ILLEGAL ALIEN menace hasn't been fully fleshed out.

5. I'm a lot more worried about crooked politicians than I am illegal aliens.
Never met an illegal alien who p*ssed on my head and then tried to tell me it was raining.
