Uh-oh, Good Morning America starts in on Katrina scammers
Edited on Tue Sep-20-05 06:19 AM by XanaDUer
Charlie Gibson is shocked that some people absconded with, maybe, 20 thousand bucks' worth of debit card and free-motel (Motel 8-hardly the Ritz) goodies. There seem to be about 10 scammers , at most. Even the GMA reporter said that it was, "very rare."

Hmmmmm.

Wouldn't it be nice if the MSM followed the enourmous billion-dollar scammers at Halliburton, etc., with the same zeal?

How "shocking" would that be? They, at least, had the decency to show a black man and then a white man who stole, but natually they showed the white guy's pic for a few seconds but showed a short clip of the black man describing his victimization.

PS-I never watch GMA and turned it off. Jesus.

2. Naw, just the downtrodden who ripped off
in one case, a week at a Motel 8 and a debit card with $300-something bucks on it.

He has been arrested and they showed it on TV. That was the black man, naturally.

3. While handing over truckloads of cash to the Vice President's Halliburton,
Republicans are worried that someone might buy Twinkies with a $2000 debit card - so that they can make their kid feel a little bit better . . .

4. Yeh, how terrible
but they did show the people who really needed the assistance and their outrage and sadness.

We should NEVER, EVER stop countering this stuff with a recitation of the victims of Enron and more recently Halliburton, which will make billions of dollars paying the poor working folks less than the going wage and no benefits when they work for them on the reconstruction. Massive amounts of money and where's the outrage?
