Elton John rips Dennis Miller
http://www.lasvegassun.com/drudged/515707551.html

<snip>
The superstar pop music icon -- who earlier in the day confirmed to us our August report that he is going to become a Strip headliner -- attacked Miller from his piano perch at the end of Saturday night's "Grand Slam for Children" benefit hosted by Agassi at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

"Americans are always asking why the rest of the world hates them," John said after singing his first song, "Tiny Dancer." "Well, the reason is Dennis Miller."

"You've all gone mental if you liked that," John said, before looking at the floor and shaking his head in disgust.

<snip>

Earlier in the show Miller delivered about 20 minutes of his usual act -- biting, sarcastic political humor with a very strong right-of-center slant.

Miller's remarks include bits about not caring about blowing the Baghdad Museum to bits, and his advocating killing caribou and raping Alaska for oil so there would be a lessened dependency on foreign outlets.

1. Good for him.
No thinking person should let comments like Miller's go unchallenged.

5. Good for Elton John....
and look at this snip further down the article:

A round of golf with Agassi and Bill Clinton fetched about half of what Robin Williams was able to coax out of two separate parties for dinner with him and his wife, Marsha. The golf brought in $50,000, while dinner sold for $105,000 -- twice, for a total of $210,000.

a round of golf with The Big Dawg!!! And that cutie Andre Agassi, WOW.

18. So two people paid an average of 25K each to play golf with Bill,
while Williams is throwing 2 dinner parties for 105K each?

If 4 or more people go to each party, they're paying less than the two people playing golf with Clinton (presuming it's a foursom).

He's well known as being one of the meanest, unfriendliest pricks in Hollywood. Especially if you're just a production assistant, an underling, he's a big mean bully just like Arnie. If you're not his kind of people you're useless. He has absolutely NO character.

14. Tiny Dennis
Apologies to Elton here, but I had to do it:

You mean baby, White House crazy, wearing a Nazi armband
Beady eyed, pirate smirk, you're hairier than a chimpy man
Failed comedian, your career went down in quicksand
And now Rove's in you, always with you, tiny Dennis talking to my hand

Jesus freaks in the White House
Scalping tickets out for God
Turning back he just laughs
And thinks it's swell we bombed Baghdad

Comedy man he makes his stand
In the auditorium
Looking on he sings for the Pentagon
The words he knows, the tune he hums

But oh how it feels so unreal
Lying here with just a sneer
Only he and Toby Keith can't hear me
When I say softly, slowly

You're a poser tiny Dennis
Count the headlines about no Weapons
You're like the Klan in sheets of linen
You had a busy day of whoring today

You're mean and lazy, D.C crazy, seamless whore of the land
Bleary eyed, pirate guile, you wish you could marry the chimpy man
Has-been comedian, you should go off to play in the desert sand
And now you're crazy, your mind like Cheney, tiny Dennis you're so bland

37. tripe from dennis
3) If you use Google Search and type in "French Military Victories," your reply will be "Did you mean French Military Defeats?"
--guess you've never heard of lafeyette?

6) Despite what some seem to believe, Martin Sheen is NOT the President. He plays one on T.V.---and despite what he and fox news believe, dennis miller's opinion isn't more valid than sheen's

10) Whether you are for military action, or against it, our young men and women overseas are fighting for us to defend our right to speak out. We all need to support them without reservation.
---when's dennis going to speak out against benefit cuts to veterans? or does support the troops simply mean 'blidly suck up to presidentail power"?

38. Fish. Barrel. Boom.
I stole that one from WillPitt. :-)

Point by point, just how did YOU sneak through the education system's cracks? You are quite simple, yes.

1. Both are bad, just in different ways. Bush's Dad was part of the adminstration that propped up Saddam in the 1980's, furnished him with now long-extinct WMD's, and when he became president, went to war with him because Saddam was cutting in on the Carlyle Group's action. Saddam was a brutal dictator, no one here ever said otherwise, but Bush is a corrupt moron who is risking our troops' lives daily for what? If you deny oil has ANYTHING to do with Chimpy's war, then you need to repeat 3rd grade. Plus, Bush's lies will cost at LEAST as many innocent lives as Saddam ever did. They all can eat shit - Osama, Bush Sr. Saddam, and Bush Jr.

2. The tired UN cliche about who chairs what. Those are rotating posts with no real influence. The Security Council is where the action is.

3. I am thankful for the French military victories in the American Revolution that made our great nation's existence possible, and so should you be likewise. By the way, did you know the French have troops with ours in Afghanistan? That is where we were supposed to be looking for Osama, right?

4. Your school district is probably broke because of Bush, so you will have little luck with your lawsuit. :-)

5. Hey, what a coincidence, Bush didn't either, he only pretended to. He had no real intention of seeking anyone's approval but his own, and Wolfowitz's, and Rumsfeld's, before killing Iraqi civilians.

6. How sad that a fake TV presidency is superior to a fake stolen presidency.

7. Bin Laden? Where is he anyway? What does he have to do with Iraq and Saddam? Nada.

8. Hussein has never posed ANY danger to the United States, ever. If you don't believe in Richard Mellon Scaife and the corporatized media, see #4.

9. We know. But could you tell me why Bush offered that as one of his many changing rationales to whip up public support?

10. They are not fighting for anything other than the illegal occupation of a sovereign land for Halliburton, Carlyle and other Mafia-like megacorporations. My freedom of speech, and yours, does not hinge upon the romantic myth that the soldiers over there are dying to protect it. Those of us who support peace, support the troops by default, for we want them home with their families, where they will be safe AND protecting our borders. Opposition to the war does NOT equal opposition to the soldiers. That is the oldest right-wing myth in the book.

24. If you think Dennis Miller could whip ANYBODY'S ass
you need some of Rush's Oxycontin.

Miller is a gutless turd. Not only does he wear it on his sleeve every minute of any day, but his whorish switch to full-blown Faux Shill is an act of cowardice (or would be, if I though Dennis had any principles besides fame and $$$$$).

Please, I would take my 14-year-old nephew against Dennis in a "fair one".

Dennis vs. Elton would be pretty funny, but not only wouldn't I count Elton out, I'd be a bit surprised if Dennis even showed up.

23. I wish more celebrities had the courage to speak the truth like this.
It's a unfortuante that Tom Jackson didn't say something on the air to Rush, yet Rush feels comfortable saying the shit he said on the air.

I guess I sympathize with Jackson, and understand that he was shocked, and he did the right thing afterwards (while, it seems Berman didn't do the right thing).

But I'd love to see more celebrities with courage, as I said above.

26. killing caribou
'Miller's remarks include bits about not caring about blowing the Baghdad Museum to bits, and his advocating killing caribou and raping Alaska for oil so there would be a lessened dependency on foreign outlets.'

---looks like he's got all the rw talking points down. it's one thing to like a particular president because you supposedly respect his handling of foriegn policy, but when you change your views on every issue (which he held throughout his career) to match the party line, it's pure bullshit.

so now dennis hates the environment, too?

it's amazing that the media doesn't call him on his insincerity and phoniness

i don't think there could be a more disgusting, self-absorbed, bullshit artist than dennis

56. I agree, but maybe some held back because it was a charity event
and they didn't want to ruin it (unfortunately, that concern for others did not seem to enter Dennis' consciousness). I'm glad Andre raised more than $12 million the night after his new baby was born. He's done a helluva lot for disadvantaged kids in Las Vegas.

Dennis Miller has been involved with tennis charities for at least 2 years. Andre is an independent (Sampras is a Republican but seems like a nice guy). He probably isn't aware to what extent Dennis has now crossed over into the dark side. Maybe Andre will invite Robin Williams or one of the many other Dem comedians to take over for Dennis in the future.

54. Leave it to Elton and Bernie Taupin too
to give us a theme song, from 'Don't Shoot the Piano Player'

Texan Love Song

I heard from a friend you'd been messing around
With a cute little thing I'd been dating uptown
Well I don't know if I like that idea much
Well you'd better stay clear I might start acting rough

You out of town guys sure think you're real keen
Think all of us boys are homespun and green
But that's wrong my friend so get this through your head
We're tough and we're Texan with necks good and red

So it's Ki-yi-yippie-yi-yi
You long hairs are sure gonna die
Our American home was clean till you came
And kids still respected the president's name

And the eagle still flew in the sky
Hearts filled with national pride
Then you came along with your drug-crazy songs
Goddamit you're all gonna die

How dare you sit there and drink all our beer
Oh it's made for us workers who sweat spit and swear
The minds of our daughters are poisoned by you
With your communistic politics and them negro blues

Well I'm gonna quit talking and take action now
Run all of you fairies clean out of this town
Oh I'm dog tired of watching you mess up our lives
Spending the summertime naturally high

All together now, and this ones for the *moron...
