British Redcoats in wigs honoring the President of Kenya! on CNN
What the Hell is this? Has anyone ever seen British Red Coats marching with fife and drum and wigs to welcome a Head of State? Is this customary. I don't remember seeing it before.

And, Little Chimp is strutting and puffing himself up and Laura looks like she's on meds smiling inappropriately.

Chimp now giving a dimwitted elementary school style welcoming speech.

But, I thought we routed the Red Coats way back when? Or, is Chimp now having dillusions of grandeur?

OMG! He's going on about and Evil, and Terraists and saying the US won't compromise! Poverty and Disease and spreading the message of Hope! (that's what chimp says we are doing).

1. Not sure
Of the history of those guys. But I remember them marching when the President of the Phillipines was here.

2. Well, then, maybe it's tradition and I jumped the gun on my outrage! It's
the Chimp! The Chimp! He does everything wrong! Sorry for the false alarm. But, then I switched over to MSNBC and had to watch Tweety in baseball cap in CA at some fancy hotel where's he's hyping and pumping Aunold..and saying the stories about the "women" don't matter..it's just Dem/Repug hypocracy turned tables. The Dems didn't care about Clinton's "groping" but they are crawling all over Aunold, and the Repugs the "family values" folks don't care because California is in such bad shape under Davis that all Tweety sees is anger and hostility towards Davis, but love and cheers and throngs of crowds for Aunold. He says it just rolls off Aunold because he's done the "classic Rope-a-Dope."

I'm not sure which was worse: Watching Chimp and the Brits, or Tweety salivating over Aunold's triumph over women who complain about his sexual misconduct.

4. Those "red coats" are the 3rd US Infantry Regiment also called
the "Old Guard". The members that are "red coats" are the Continental Color Guard.

5. Yes that's the Old Guard
Saw them in Pittsburgh a few weeks ago where they did a free show, which is a rarity since they don't travel much outside DC. I must admit the soldiers in the unit did a great show of about 2+ hours in length.

1st half was a history of the US Army, 2nd was the Fife and Drum corp, the silent drill team and the marching band.

These are also the unit that guards the Tomb of the Unknowns and burials at Arlington.

interesting part of our history

And I hope I STILL wonder that Bush and CNN were "complicit" in this "Pomp and Circumstance," as part of "Pumping Bsh and his GLORY AS PRES!" Over, what would have been an "uncovered in Clinton times" visit by the Pres of a minor country (Kenya) to the US? If Bushweren' tin trouble, would this have been televised...broken into in full glory by CNN? Where "Chimp anPickles" were standing for interminable minutes with hand on their hearts for the "PLEDGE?"

Bush needed this moment of "Pomp and Circumstance." And CNN was happy to provide.

I LOVE anything to do with some form of "Pomp and Cirucumstance" but only when we have a Dem in office!
