Baghdad Burning has comments about the new Iraqi constitution. Here is the part on health care:

"Article (30):
1st -- The state guarantees social and health insurance, the basics for a free and honorable life for the individual and the family -- especially children and women -- and works to protect them from illiteracy, fear and poverty and provides them with housing and the means to rehabilitate and take care of them. This shall be regulated by law."

So I guess we Americans aren't suppose to get a free and honorable life. Or protection from illiteracy and poverty. She also said most of the constitution is from the one Sadam had.

3. this info is going right to my freeper neighbors!
They are *slightly* "concerned" about bush* lately, they also just got their (lousy) employer supplied health insurance premium tripled (to around 800.00 per month for the family) so with the specter of mother having to go back to work at another retail job they weren't pleased about what they called : "the N.O. give-away speech"

Knowing that Iraquis will have more than they from their "Glorious President" will likely be the tipping point. If not, I can't wait to hear the rationalization. Oh, and they have an SUV and gas prices are making them nuts. Let them defend their boy now. See if things have come home enough for them to question their obedience.

4. Yes, this makes sooo much sense...

I'm sure that all the underinsured and non-insured in our country will have no qualms about going without so that people in Iraq can have these benefits...

ETA: I am not so upset at this as I am at the utter loss of women's rights that will happen... Even if it does say 'health care', I doubt the people who will need it will see it. But you can bet your sweet boopy that they'll enforce the burka wearing...

6. I was upset about that the day we invaded. It was obvious that 50%
of the population were going to get less rights rather than more.

5. Aha! Now I know why they're fighting!
They're angry that we won't let them enjoy the benefits of an ownership society. Instead, we're punishing them with Democratic & Progressive programs. My God, the inhumanity of it all! :sarcasm:
