If someone new is elected Governor and Davis is recalled how long is the new term? Is it a full four year term or is it just until Davis's term is over. I mean are they spending all this money for just a one year term? Anyone know?
4. Davis was elected last November to his 2nd 4 year term.
If he is recalled, the person receving the highest number of votes on the second part of the ballot would be sworn in as governor after the election is certified - which could take up to a month or more. That person would serve the remainder of the term which is up in 2006 - unless of course he is successfully recalled.
Issa and the repukes opened a real Pandora's box here, but I think it will all be moot. I think Davis will squeak by with maybe 53 or 54% of the voters saying "no" to the recall. At that point it won't matter who got the most votes to replace him.
