Ever watch * with the sound turned off?
At work they had the big telescreen turned to CNN with no volume, just close captions. I was watching the press conference with the President of Kenya when I noticed *'s whole demeanor change. He started rocking from side to side and making those grimaces he does and waving about and I thought he was gonna spin his old self right off the podium.

That was, of course the point at which someone asked about the Wilson affair....

7. I feel
the same way. I haven't been able to stomach his voice since he made the comment about being with the US or being with the terrorists. I never really paid much attention till he began that garbage, then it just made me sick. He's just as much a zealous fanatic as those he denigrates.

8. Have to keep my mute button handy
when I venture into the fantasyland of TV news. Never know when a sound clip of * will pop up.

2. That's an Instructive Experiment
There's a passage in "The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat" in which Oliver Sacks is in the rec room of a mental institution with Reagan giving a speech on TV. One of the women had a physiological problem which made her able to respond only to the speaker's emotions and bearing (like an animal would), and not to the content. She said about Reagan: "There's something wrong with his speech. He's either lying or he's brain damaged."

I'd love to see more non-verbal analysis like this. I'm not very good at it, but some people are, and it's very interesting.

4. Look at the eyes.
It's always best to look at the speaker's eyes. Bush's eyes look like he's constantly laughing. I'd be laughing too if I made all that cash by tricking 70% of America into supporting genocide.

view squatter. Wanted to catch his UN speech last Sept but refused 2 listen. Amazing what U notice w/ no sound 2 distract U. Last sept I noticed he had been coached, probably the whole month of Aug while on vacation. During the UN speech he didn't smirk....he was coached 2 bite his lower lip or put his tongue between his teeth instead....nor did he lay all over the podium....everytime his hands moved up 2 the top of the podium..he would notice them & quickly bring them back 2 the bottom. I would love 2 know who worked w/ him & how many hours were devoted to make him fit for diplomatic display.

9. That would be the only way I would
watch him, that is if I could only stand the sight of him which I can't! He comes on my screen and I switch the channel every time.
